(1982, Missouri. Homemade-look micropress by conscious-blackness artists on shortlived
conscious-blackness label; songwriter/AOR with some jazz moves -- vocals, piano and
acoustic bass. If I try to come up with something that it sounds like, I think of John
Martyn or Peter Hammill, and that isn't much help... but it's sorta vaguely like some-
    thing along those lines. Kinda.)

Maybe the nursery-rhyme gimmick is used a little too heavily, but the stylish vocals remind me
of a young Smokey. Teddy Vann produced.)

(Well-known 60's/70's NYC dj/archivist throws out some goldies... Flat zero in the way of
liner notes, but 12 tracks, presumably big-time rarities, incl. AVALONS, NOBLES, SHELLS,

(Issued @1980, collection of blues-gals doing blues. Kinda haphazard selection,
tracks from 1927 to 1961. Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald aren't exactly ob-
scure, but at least there are three solid tracks from the 20's; those are nice
to have around. And the 30's tracks are pretty neat as well. 1" sspl.)
